Tonight the PM foreshadowed changes to the AstraZeneca #COVID19 vaccine rollout in Australia.
After weeks of concern the government finally chokes on its words to admit there may be a potential blood clotting issue for some by getting the jab from the AZ vaccine.
The government is now issuing a warning for Australian’s over 18 but under 50. Those within that age group under certain circumstances will be prioritised with the Pfizer vaccine.
This means the rollout timetable that’s already woefully behind will no doubt be pushed back further.
I’ve checked australia.gov.au for vaccination locations in my area. There are considerably more outside my postcode. But that aside, only a few actually have available stock of the vaccine. A few say check back in a week and when I checked one of the sites that are taking bookings, the booking is for the second AstraZeneca shot which says it’s not currently available.
Talk about a train crash vaccination programme.
Australian’s lives are potentially at risk due to Prime Minister Scott Morrison and the federal government’s abysmal handling of the COVID-19 vaccine rollout in Australia.
Enough to vaccinate every adult three times over, yet at least half the country is struggling to make even an appointment to receive the jab.
